Issued by the Pomeranian Voivode, the investment location decision relates to a project involving the construction and operation of Poland’s first nuclear power plant, with 3 Westinghouse AP1000 reactors with a total capacity of 3750 MWe, in the Choczewo municipality at the “Lubiatowo-Kopalino” location. This year, PEJ obtained the fundamental decision and the environmental conditions decision for its investment in Pomerania. Polskie Elektrownie J\u0105drowe (PEJ) also signed an agreement for the design of the power plant (Engineering Services Contract) with a consortium of American companies Westinghouse-Bechtel.<\/p>\n
The location decision obtained by Polskie Elektrownie J\u0105drowe enables the company to carry out preparatory activities in the “Lubiatowo-Kopalino” site, indicating specific plots for the realisation of the investment. This is another key decision in the power plant investment process. “The issued decision, combined with the recently signed power plant design contract with our American partners, proves that we are consistently reaching successive milestones, and that the nuclear power plant in Pomerania is the most advanced nuclear investment in the country”, said Anna \u0141ukaszewska-Trzeciakowska, Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the decision on determining the location, Polskie Elektrownie J\u0105drowe received the right to dispose of the land for the needs of preparatory works and construction of the facility, as well as the subsequent operation of the nuclear power plant.<\/p>\n
