During the last summits, one of the main topics was the situation in Ukraine, now the EU leaders will discuss two armed conflicts, also the situation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
‘We unequivocally condemn all acts of terrorism, violence, and hostilities against civilians. Poland supports international coordination efforts aimed at restoring peace and providing humanitarian assistance’, stressed a government spokesman.<\/p>\n
During the two-day summit, prime ministers, presidents, and chancellors are expected to discuss further support for Ukraine and the use of frozen Russian assets in the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities – in Europe alone these assets are worth around \u20ac200 billion.<\/p>\n
‘Russian aggression against Ukraine continues and requires further coordination between European countries to strengthen the security of our region and Europe as a whole. At the forthcoming European Council summit, Poland will advocate the adoption of further sanctions against Russia and Belarus’, informed M\u00fcller.<\/p>\n
According to the government spokesman, as part of the discussion on economic issues, the European Council will assess the implementation of measures on the resilience and competitiveness of the European economy. He noted that Poland stresses the importance of the Single Market and the free movement of people, goods, services, and capital as factors that strengthen the EU’s competitiveness.<\/p>\n
‘The Prime Minister will also present the Polish position on the topic of energy – in particular, on supporting nuclear technologies that we are currently developing in the country. We believe that the energy transition should be fair and socially acceptable’, stated M\u00fcller.<\/p>\n
