The team, comprising aviation and local government experts, will prepare an analysis of the costs of adapting the airport to passenger traffic, together with ways of financing the investment, and will draw up a proposed timetable for the work.<\/p>\n
“Wherever aviation is established, we at Polskie Porty Lotnicze strive to support it, hence my presence here. I believe that our experience of many decades, will allow us to bring the planned investment to a happy conclusion. Today it is an act of the will to cooperate, to draw a road map”, said President Wojtera. “After collecting all the data, we will decide on further steps”, he added.<\/p>\n
Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal Artur Kosicki indicated that the voivodeship’s self-government was ready to establish a special-purpose company which could manage the airport. Such a company could include Polish Airports. He announced that an earmarked reserve for this purpose would be created in the draft of voivodship\u2019s budget for 2024.<\/p>\n
“It is the operator of almost all the airports in our country. It has an experienced staff, which will help us prepare the foundations, the legal framework for investment and the assumptions of how such an aviation company would operate. Above all, we need to answer the question of what needs to be done to prevent Podlaskie region from being a white spot on the aviation map. We can no longer afford this”, said Artur Kosicki.<\/p>\n
The ceremony of signing the letter of intent was also attended by parliamentarians, representatives of local authorities, the Podlaskie Voivodeship Labour Office and the Podlaskie Chamber of Aviation.<\/p>\n
