The companies have signed an agreement to optimise the technological process enabling the synthesis of fuel from carbon dioxide and green hydrogen. “ORLEN aims to become a leader in this new market segment and contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality by the aviation sector in Poland”, informs the P\u0142ock company.<\/p>\n
“Cooperation with Yokogawa is a milestone in the implementation of ORLEN’s strategic aspirations related to the launch of synthetic fuel production. Our joint project will enable the development of a detailed process for producing such fuels on an industrial scale. We are already working with our Japanese partner to optimise refining and petrochemical processes. I am glad that such a competent and proven partner will support the development of ORLEN’s new business line”, said Daniel Obajtek, President of the ORLEN Management Board.<\/p>\n
Under the cooperation, ORLEN and Yokogawa will develop an integrated synthetic fuel production system. The project will involve the creation of a virtual replica of the production plant, called a ‘digital twin’, which will enable the simulation and optimisation of production processes to select the most cost-effective and environmentally sustainable method of synthesis. This solution will be applied to a new synthetic fuel production facility that will be built by the end of 2030.<\/p>\n

Yokogawa already provides comprehensive solutions to the ORLEN Group, including automation technology, refinery and petro-chemical process modelling software and energy optimisation tools for production plants.<\/p>\n
