A spy network working for Russian services was allegedly carrying out preparations for diversionary activities in Poland. According to the journalists’ findings, officers of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) detained six people in this case. A security alert has been issued in connection with the net’s activities on railway routes and national critical infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n

The people detained by the ABW in this case are foreigners from the east who were allegedly working on behalf of Russian secret services.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ABW agents detained them in connection with the discovery of hidden cameras on important routes and railway junctions, which recorded traffic on the tracks and transmitted the images to the network. Dozens of such devices had been placed.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to information obtained by radio reporters, these are mainly sections of rail routes in the Podkarpackie voivodship, including near the airport in Jasionka, near Rzesz\u00f3w. The airport is a major transit point for Western arms and ammunition and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

The media information was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Mariusz B\u0142aszczak. He said that ABW officers had broken up a spy network operating for Russia on the territory of Poland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was a spy group, they were collecting information for the benefit of those who attacked Ukraine, committing war crimes, the threat was real”, the Deputy Prime Minister said.<\/span><\/p>\n

“There is no doubt whatsoever that we are living in times when Russia has decided to recreate its empire, it has always been a threat to Poland, whether its empire was white, red or now Putin’s regime”, said the head of the national defence ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n
