During the talks, they presented results of research carried out as part of the &#8216;Genomic Map of Poland&#8217; project were presented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European Bioinformatics and Genomics Centre (ECBiG) is an interdisciplinary research centre located at the Faculty of Informatics and Telecommunications of the Poznan University of Technology. It was established in 2007 on the initiative of Poznan University of Technology and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its main task is to conduct fundamental research in bioinformatics, structural genomics, functional genomics and proteomics, the development and implementation of new and existing research methods and the practical application of the obtained results in medicine, biotechnology and agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During his stay at Poznan University of Technology, Minister Przemys\u0142aw Czarnek attended a presentation of the results of research carried out under the National Centre for Research and Development grant &#8216;Genomic Map of Poland&#8217;. The cost of the project is almost PLN 105 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Genomic Map of Poland&#8221; will become a reference base for national and international biological and bioinformatics projects carried out in the field of genetic and genomic analyses. It will also serve scientists carrying out basic research on the genetic determinants of various types of diseases, and scientists developing medical tests used in prevention, diagnosis, and therapy.
