{"id":41623,"date":"2023-02-23T14:19:27","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T13:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dignitynews.eu\/?p=41623"},"modified":"2023-02-23T14:19:27","modified_gmt":"2023-02-23T13:19:27","slug":"contract-for-pre-design-work-on-nuclear-power-plant-in-poland-signed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dignitynews.eu\/en\/contract-for-pre-design-work-on-nuclear-power-plant-in-poland-signed\/","title":{"rendered":"Contract for pre-design work on nuclear power plant in Poland signed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An agreement for pre-design work on a nuclear power plant was signed at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy between Polskie Elektrownie J\u0105drowe (PEJ) and Westinghouse Electric Company and Westinghouse Electric Poland (Westinghouse).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agreement was signed in the presence of Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskwa and US Ambassador Mark Brzezinski by PEJ CEO Tomasz St\u0119pie\u0144, Westinghouse Poland CEO Miros\u0142aw Kowalik and Westinghouse Energy Systems Division head David Durham.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We have decided to implement and make a success of a key project for Poland&#8217;s energy security, which is the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland. A project that is being built with a stable and experienced partner and is part of Polish-American cooperation,&#8217; Minister Moskwa said at a press conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The signed agreement comprises 10 main areas, including the development of a detailed model for the implementation of the investment, the preparation of a safety assessment, a quality control programme, and the identification of potential suppliers, with an emphasis on Polish companies. The agreement is expected to allow PEJ and Westinghouse to begin initial pre-design work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Today we are experiencing a celebration of Poland&#8217;s energy security. We can imagine that in 2015, 2016, when major energy investments such as Baltic Pipe were planned, similar celebrations were held in this preparation for 2021-2023.
