Proposals for strategic projects will be available from 6 March 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The fight against cancer must involve systemic measures&#8221;, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. &#8220;By 2030, at least PLN 10 billion will be allocated to oncology, in various programmes. This is a revolution in cancer treatment. We are implementing the latest procedures, investing in wards and medicines, because the patient&#8217;s well-being is paramount&#8221;, the Prime Minister stressed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the subsidised projects for cancer hospitals, the diagnosis and treatment of patients will be accelerated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Minister Gra\u017cyna Ignaczak-Bandych recalled, a competition was announced for funding from the Medical Fund, which was established on the initiative of President Andrzej Duda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The total amount of Medical Fund funding for cancer hospitals is PLN 2.5 billion. The minimum value of a strategic project submitted for the competition is PLN 50 million. Hospitals can apply for a maximum of PLN 300 million in targeted subsidies. The call for projects will last until 5 May 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Comprehensive cancer treatment is provided by around 40 facilities in Poland. The call for proposals will select a dozen of the best projects. However, we do not rule out increasing the pool of funding&#8221;, announced Minister Adam Niedzielski.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Prof. Adam Maciejczyk, director of the Lower Silesian Oncology Centre, and Prof. Krzysztof Sk\u0142adowski, director of the Maria Sk\u0142odowska-Curie National Institute of Oncology &#8211; National Research Institute in Gliwice, who were present at the conference, the funding will improve access to modern diagnostics and therapy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We are changing the organisation of oncological treatment. A single centre will guide the patient through the entire process from diagnosis, to treatment, to rehabilitation.
