The Chancellery of the President of Poland informed that Pawe\u0142 Soloch, the head of the National Security Bureau and Jakub Kumoch, the head of the International Policy Bureau took part in a teleconference with security advisers from France, Germany, Poland, the USA, Great Britain and Italy on the current security crisis in the region.<\/b><\/p>\n
Poland has joined the hitherto existing format US plus four (UK, Germany, France, Italy).\u00a0From January 1, Poland will lead the work of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The priorities of activities for the coming months will be\u00a0presented by\u00a0Zbigniew Rau,\u00a0Minister of\u00a0Foreign Affairs\u00a0, on January 13 at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna.<\/p>\n
Before the teleconference, the head of the National Security Bureau met with the US ambassador to the OSCE, Michael Carpenter in Warsaw.\u00a0One of the main topics of the meeting was the threat of Russian aggression against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
The consultations were organized by the US national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, and aimed at discussing the positions ahead of next week’s US-Russia (January 10), NATO-Russia (January 12) and OSCE (January 13) talks.<\/p>\n
Jakub Kumoch, the head of the presidential International Policy Office said that both advisors discussed the directions of joint action in the face of the crisis caused by Russia, against which NATO must speak with one voice.<\/p>\n
The National Security Bureau reported that the Polish side emphasized\u00a0the need to maintain allied unity in the face of the threat of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and to strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defense policy.<\/p>\n
