During the inauguration in Tomasz\u00f3w Mazowiecki, the head of the Ministry of National Defence (MON) announced that the first units of the 32 AW149 helicopters ordered for the Polish Army will be equipped by the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade as early as next year.<\/p>\n
“These are helicopters that will be heavily armed, their task is to transport soldiers, but also to support ground troops. This is very good equipment. This is a breakthrough, because until now the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade was using old helicopters. In the 25th Brigade, as in the entire Polish Army, there are great soldiers, but these great soldiers must have very good equipment, the most modern equipment”, said the head of the Ministry of Defence stressed, quoted in the ministry’s website.<\/p>\n
Minister B\u0142aszczak also spoke about the start of the academic year and increasing quotas at military universities – which is an investment in Poland’s security.<\/p>\n
“Russia is trying to rebuild its empire, Russia invaded Ukraine. Our task is to strengthen the Polish armed forces in such a way that Russia will not dare attack us. In order to strengthen the Polish Army, the size of the Polish Army should be increased, which we are consistently doing. The Polish Army should be equipped with modern weapons, with modern equipment, it should also be active in the North Atlantic Alliance”, said the head of the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n
The meeting in Tomasz\u00f3w Mazowiecki was also an opportunity to promote military service.<\/p>\n
“I encourage all those who have not yet decided what they want to do in the future to join the Polish Army. It really is worth it. It is a good way to improve one’s skills, to acquire knowledge, and to gain social standing as well”, said the head of the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n
