Since last year, Germany has continued to lead among the EU countries with a share of roughly 1\/4 of the entire GDP of the European Union.\u00a0Poland remains the sixth economy of the EU.<\/p>\n
In 2020, the GDP of the European Union countries amounted to approximately EUR 13.4 trillion.\u00a0According to Eurostat data, it’s about 7.6% higher than a decade ago but is 5.9% lower than in 2019. Such a regression is the result of the pandemic; it was the first drop in the EU GDP since 2009.<\/p>\n
In 2020, Germany generated the most of the EU’s GDP – 25.1%.\u00a0The next places were taken by France (17.2%), Italy (12.3%), Spain (8.4%) and the Netherlands (6%).\u00a0Poland was sixth with a GDP equal to 3.9% of the entire European economy, which is a minimal increase compared to last year.<\/p>\n
Malta (0.1%), Estonia, Cyprus and Latvia (0.2%) had the lowest share in the EU GDP.<\/p>\n
