According to UTK data, the station Wroc\u0142aw G\u0142\u00f3wny saw the highest traffic among all stations in Poland for the second year in a row in 2021. The station handled a total of 17.11 million passengers, an increase of 38% compared to 2020. (12.43 million passengers).<\/p>\n
The Authority states that 2021 was a time of the gradual return of passengers to trains after reducing of pandemic restrictions. Passengers increasingly turned to public transport and operators developed their offerings, which translated into an increase in train traffic, among other factors. However, despite the better transport offer and greater mobility among passengers at many stopping points, especially in the area of large cities, passenger numbers were significantly lower than before the pandemic.<\/p>\n
The total volume of exchanges amounted to 489.2 million boardings\/ alightings. This is an increase of 17.2 % compared to 2020, but significantly less than in 2019 when more than 669 million boarding\/ alighting passengers were recorded.<\/p>\n
The Authority’s data shows that exchanges of more than 10,000 people per day took place at 15 stations. These were: Wroc\u0142aw G\u0142\u00f3wny (46.9 thousand), Pozna\u0144 G\u0142\u00f3wny (41 thousand), Krak\u00f3w G\u0142\u00f3wny (32.2 thousand) Katowice (30.4 thousand) Warszawa Centralna (24.4 thousand), Warszawa Wschodnia (23.7 thousand), Gdynia G\u0142\u00f3wna (22.9 thousand. ), Warszawa Zachodnia (22 thousand), Gda\u0144sk G\u0142\u00f3wny (21.8 thousand), Gda\u0144sk Wrzeszcz (18.9 thousand), Warszawa \u015ar\u00f3dmie\u015bcie (18.4 thousand), Sopot (15.1 thousand), Pruszk\u00f3w (12.5 thousand), Szczecin (11.6 thousand), Grodzisk Mazowiecki (10 – 12 thousand).<\/p>\n
