Despite worsening consumer confidence, the upcoming holiday season could still be a prosperous time for the country’s accommodation industry. A kind of test was the long weekend in the third week of June, which attracted tourists to the resorts, according to the PKO BP bank report “Puls Nieruchomo\u015bci”.<\/h5>\n

PKO BP analysts state that the number of payment card transactions observed by them in the hotel and leisure industry indicates that, despite a slight deterioration in consumer attitudes due to changes in the macroeconomic situation, the domestic holiday season of 2022 does not have to be worse than the excellent 2021, in which the HoReCa industry received additional revenues from the realisation of demand postponed during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the summer season, the highest accommodation prices are recorded in seaside destinations. In this region, we also observe the strongest price differentiation of the offer between the weekend and weekdays. High prices go hand in hand with high occupancy rates. The intermediate price option is the lakeside resorts, and by far the cheapest choice is the mountains, where the winter season is much more important”, says the report.<\/p>\n

According to the bank’s estimates, during holidays, the highest occupancy rate is recorded in resorts located by the sea. Among the analysed resorts, Sopot, \u015awinouj\u015bcie, Ustka and Mi\u0119dzyzdroje account for more than 80% rate.<\/p>\n

“Prices of summer holidays at the seaside are significantly higher than in the mountains. Couples planning to stay in a hotel room must reckon with the cost of accommodation being on average nearly PLN 200 per night higher.<\/p>\n

In the mountains, the occupancy rate is even 20% lower. In the case of the analysed resorts offering recreation at lakes, the occupancy rate is estimated at slightly more than 70% on average”, informs the PKO BP bank report.<\/p>\n
