\u00b0We are starting a great program of building arched halls, which will be multifunctional, erected in urban-rural and rural communes, especially where there are no real sports halls today\u00b0, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Raszyn. Sports halls are an opportunity to encourage children and adolescents to lead healthier and more active lifestyles.<\/p>\n
Thanks to government funding, around 1,000 halls will be built throughout the country in the coming years. \u00b0These new halls will allow playing basketball, volleyball, football or tennis\u00b0, said the head of the government.<\/p>\n
\u00b0Already this year, we will build several dozen of such halls. We want to build 500 next year and another 500 next year. They will provide millions of Poles, millions of Polish children with new opportunities offering a healthy lifestyle, sports successes, passion, joy and emotions\u00b0, emphasized the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
The minister of sport and tourism, Kamil Bortniczuk, noted that great sports talents such as Iga \u015awi\u0105tek, Robert Lewandowski or earlier Jakub B\u0142aszczykowski were often born in smaller towns.<\/p>\n
Local government units will be able to apply for co-financing under the program. The call for applications will run from July 18 to August 16, 2022.<\/p>\n
Co-financing under the program may amount to 70% of eligible expenses, but not more than PLN 2 million for the construction of a new multi-functional pitch with a playing field size of at least 20 m x 40 m., with a permanent roof structure and the cost not more than PLN 1 million for a permanent roof structure over the existing multi-purpose pitch with the minimum dimensions of the playing field 20 m x 40 m.<\/p>\n
