The 7th Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations chaired by Prime Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki and Petr Fiala took place in Prague. As part of the sub-table for transport, Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk and Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Martin Kupka, discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of transport.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe High-Speed Railways project is one of the elements of the development of the entire transport infrastructure in Poland. Currently, the most important thing is to define the points of intersection of the common state border by high-speed rail lines on the Katowice – Ostrava and Wroc\u0142aw – Prague sections, as well as to synchronize the dates of construction plans for these lines on both sides of the Polish-Czech border\u201d, said Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk.<\/p>\n
The most important joint road task at present is the construction of the S3 expressway on the Polish side and the D11 motorway on the Czech side, connecting the ports of Szczecin and \u015awinouj\u015bcie with Prague through the western regions of Poland. Construction works are underway on both sides of the border. In Poland, the completion of the last sections of the S3 expressway is scheduled for 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis project is crucial both in bilateral relations and for the entire region of Central Europe, as it conveniently connects the Czech Republic with Polish seaports in the Baltic Sea. We are reiterating the earlier declaration of support for activities aimed at the maximum acceleration of the construction of the D11 motorway on the Czech side\u201d, emphasized Adamczyk.<\/p>\n
During the signing of the memorandum on cooperation in the development of connections between the Czech Republic and Polish seaports, Minister Adamczyk said that it would contribute to the intensification of mutual trade and tightening cooperation in the area of transport, including the use of Polish seaports by Czech contractors.<\/p>\n
The representatives of Poland and the Czech Republic also expressed interest in cooperation in the construction of a water connection on the Ostrava – K\u0119dzierzyn-Ko\u017ale section.<\/p>\n
