The signatories of the agreement are the Museum of the City of Gda\u0144sk, the Baltic Sea Cultural Center, the Museum of the University of Gda\u0144sk, the Oblate Center for Education and Culture and the kindergarten \u201cThe girls from the window\u201d.<\/p>\n
As part of the cooperation, the parties have declared cooperation in initiating, creating and implementing joint local, regional and international projects in culture, art, education and tourism in order to promote the cultural potential of the Old Town and mutual promotion of the activities of the institutions associated in the network in order to increase the availability of their offer.<\/p>\n
The Old Town in Gda\u0144sk is the northern part of the \u015ar\u00f3dmie\u015bcie district, located on the Radunia Canal by the Teutonic Knights in the 14th century. This unique work of hydro-engineering was of great importance for the economic development of Gda\u0144sk, as the largest production plant in medieval Europe – the Great Mill was established there. Other valuable monuments of Gda\u0144sk include Old Town Hall, the Church of St. Catherine and the Church of St. Joseph and the House of Pelplin Abbots. Today, each of these monuments plays a different role. \u00a0Still, the Radunia Canal is full of events. This area is the seat of many cultural institutions in the city.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to show the potential of this place. There will be a lot of events, during the summer holidays. We must recognize that this place is a cultural center and it is worth using it\u201d, says the deputy director of the Baltic Sea Cultural Center, Renata Malcer-Dymarska.<\/p>\n
