On April 10 this year, on the 12th anniversary of the Smolensk catastrophe, in which the Polish delegation going to the ceremony on the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre died, President Andrzej Duda announced that he would take “all possible diplomatic steps to prevent the world from forgetting about the Katyn massacre and kept condemning its perpetrators\u201d.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that distorting history and reversing the roles of the executioner and the victim should be fought. \u201cThe failure of the international community to account for the Katyn massacre bore poisoned fruit\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
Andrzej Duda stated that the crime of genocide does not expire, therefore he will demand that this case be resolved before international tribunals. \u201cThis crime must finally be judged and the perpetrators named\u201d, he said. He stressed that “for 80 years the victims and their families did not receive justice for the Katyn massacre”.<\/p>\n
