The company Tauron Polska Energia SA announced the appointment of Pawe\u0142 Szczeszek to the management board and to the position of the president. The new president’s priority is to reform the Polish energy sector and to efficiently carry out the process of allocating coal assets to the National Energy Security Agency (NABE).<\/h5>\n

\u201cThis is the most important structural reform of the Polish energy sector in the last years, even necessary from the point of view of maintaining Poland’s energy security. First of all, I will focus on preparing the Group for the allocation of coal assets to NABE\u201d, said the new president and stressed that he is aware of the anxiety that the reform of the Polish energy sector may cause among employees and their families.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to make it clear that I will do all possible to ensure that everyone involved in this process receives decent working and pay conditions at NABE\u201d, promised Szczeszek.<\/p>\n

The company announced that it intends to accelerate the “green turn” focusing on the development of the distribution network as well as the multi-energy sales offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI assume that the Polish energy industry will have to increase spending on the development of renewable energy sources and the construction of energy storage in years to come. The development of power grids requiring new investments to be the basis for the energy of tomorrow, should also remain a priority\u201d, assessed Szczeszek.<\/p>\n

Tauron also announced that it intends to complete the construction of the Piotrk\u00f3w wind farm this autumn. It is stated that the first turbine will be placed on the construction site, and components of another 14 generators are also being transported to the site. The Piotrk\u00f3w farm is the first onshore investment entirely constructed by Tauron. The farm with a nominal capacity of 30 megawatts is to produce 90 gigawatt-hours of energy per year, which will meet the needs of 35,000 households.<\/p>\n
